Creating categories is one of the cornerstones of the decluttering process. But what happens once you decide what to keep? That's where labeling comes in. Whether it's labeling the individual containers inside a closet or the various areas inside a kitchen cabinet or refrigerator, they save time because we only have to make the decision once about what goes where. Also because it makes things easier to find because we have designated a specific spot for everything, and maybe the best thing of all, they inform everyone who lives in the house where things belong so there is a higher probability that things will be put away properly. Imagine! In order to help that happen, make sure to educate everyone about the new labels. You don't need a fancy label maker. You can use post-it notes or plain paper that you tape on the container. Give it a try!
